In January 2016, Larne Skills Development was inspected by the Education Training Inspectorate (ETI) who have the responsibility to inspect all schools, college, training providers and universities in Northern Ireland. Charged with improving the quality of the education system and raising the standards of students throughout Northern Ireland, the Inspection is very detailed, thorough and looks at all aspects of the service we deliver.
A team of five inspectors observed classroom teaching, viewed our premises and equipment, spoke with our students, our employer partners and our staff, analysed our statistics and success stories and particularly formed an opinion of the quality of learning that students attending Larne Skills or Ballymena Skills gain. A link to the full report is included below but the Inspection can best be summarised using the following quote (taken from the report, section 8):
“The organisation has a high level of capacity for sustained improvement in the interests of all the learners”.
This is the highest grade possible and we are exceptionally proud to have attained this accolade. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff who always put the needs of the student above all else. Click the link below to read the full report.
